About 1st edition!

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Lyndsey Heys (nee Whittaker) and I am known to many children in the Rossendale Valley as Mrs Heys.

I am a qualified Secondary English teacher who successfully trained for my PGCE qualification at Edge Hill University; previously I had been employed by an international marketing company for product design and I have supported children and adults with special needs for a number of years.

My determination to become a qualified teacher came from a dream that began after the birth of my first child; a dream to educate children combined with a passion for reading and maths that developed since childhood. This ultimately determined that my specialist subject was to be English, although I still teach maths and enjoy art, music and history.
